Building loads of traffic, backlinks and brand with Guest Blogging
Ranking high on search engines requires good quality link backs. You might have heard a lot about how article marketing may help you achieve that. I am sure you might have published a couple of articles on article directories as well. Now, it’s time to take it to the next level.
What is Guest blogging:
Guest blogging is just like article marketing with the only difference that you publish it on popular blogs rather than on article directories. Its just like guest appearing on a TV show. You must have seen talk shows where celebrities talk about their upcoming movies or authors discuss their newly released books. Guest blogging creates the same effect but in the offline world. This is the single biggest best kept secret that made many celebrity guest bloggers.
Why is Guest blogging better than traditional article marketing?
- You control the audience you want to reach
Unlike submitting it on article directories, you choose the blogs where you want to guest blog. So, you know the volume of audience that you are targeting and what that audience is really interested in. - Quality backlinks:
While articles on directories gets you loads of linkbacks, guest blogging gets you quality linkbacks. Both are necessary to get you rankings that you desire. - It builds your brand:
If you choose the right blogs that carry a brand image, it boosts your own brand image as a person or as a product (depending upon what you write in your post).
Here is a nice article that further discusses how guest blogging is better than article marketing.
How to do Guest Blogging with KeywordCountry:
In the following tutorial I will show you how to use Keyword Country’s Blog Marketing tool to develop great reputation in your industry blogosphere and also learn to build loads of links to your website. Let’s begin !
STEP1 – Find the best audience keywords to target
The first task before targeting blogs is to find the keywords where you have the best possible audience. Start a new keyword research from Keyword Research module and enter your seed keywords. Set the limit to 1500 or 3500 (depending upon how tough your industry is) and click Search to initiate the research. Wait till Keyword Country digs up all the results.

Tip: Make sure to keep checking keyword suggestions bar and keep adding the keywords that are relevant to your theme.
Step 2 . Exporting Keywords to Blog Marketing Tool
Now we need to import the list to the blog marketing tool. To do so, Click on show groups button (located at the top). A new column will appear on the left of keyword list.
Right click on any group > Copy > List of Groups. We now have a good set of sub-theme keywords related to our niche.

See how I managed all the articles.Use the various options like [add new page, new folder, rename etc... ] to structure your articles in desired way.

Now that we have the keywords, its time to use them to find the most popular blogs that support guest blogging. Click on Blog marketing tool from KC’s homepage and paste the copied keyword group list at the “Add Keywords” text box . Alternatively, the user can simply Right click > Send the keywords to Blog Marketing.

Click ‘Analyze’ and KC scans the whole web and finds you the most popular blogs active in your niche that support guest blogging. Since Keyword Country has to search the whole internet for blogs related to your keywords, this process is going to take a while.

Step 3 : Shortlisting your target blogs
Once KC is through with scanning the web for best possible blogs, its time to figure out which ones you can safely bet upon. Set a filter to show only those blogs which allow guest blogging. Click on the Drop down icon on the column header of the ”Guest Posts” column > Make sure only “yes” is selected. The resultant is the list of all those blogs that support guest blogging.

Since guest blogging requires efforts, you need to be very sure of the blog which you are targeting, its impact on your traffic, your social presence and your brand. KC gives you loads of parameters to judge the popularity of the blogs and choose the right ones to target.
These parameters / columns are:
- Alexa Rank
- Number of Backlinks
- DMOZ listed
- Twitter followers
- Twitter friends
- Feed hits
and many more.

Just sort the list of blogs with any parameter you want and set the priority sequence in which you want to guest post on most popular blogs of your niche.
The thumb rule is to target those blogs first that have good reader base. The twitter followers and twitter friend columns gives you a rough idea of its social popularity.
Step 4 : Preparing the Article and Publishing it.
Now, here comes the hard part. Its time to write guest posts for the chosen blogs. Visit the chosen blogs to get the feel / idea of the type of articles published. Carefully note the voice and style of writing that the blog owner prefers. Try to get the same touch in your guest post.
Guest blog on as many influential blogs as you can handle. You can use KC’s content builder module to write some excellent guest posts for those influential blogs that matter the most.
Now all that’s remaining is offering the article to the blog owners. Don’t forget to add your website’s link in the article. Happy blogging.
